Scottish brewer Innis & Gunn has partnered with Brunswick Bierworks to brew its beer at the Toronto-based facility and serve the local market.
The deal means Innis & Gunn will be able to offer fresher beer and faster delivery to the Ontario market.
Until now, draught kegs of Innis & Gunn were imported directly from Scotland, but an increased demand for the beers in Ontario prompted the brand to seek out a local brewing partner.
This new partnership enables Innis & Gunn to produce and distribute its core range of beers more efficiently, in a 30L format – and with shorter delivery times for local bars and restaurants.
“Innis & Gunn is the number one imported craft beer in Canada,” said Nic Rennie, country manager for Canada, Innis & Gunn. “Our Canadian fans are incredibly important to us – and they deserve the best possible experience every time they order a pint of our beer. A locally brewed Innis & Gunn is a fresher Innis & Gunn – it’s as simple as that.”
Innis & Gunn brewers are working with Brunswick Bierworks to ensure the beers are brewed to Innis & Gunn’s exacting standards, precisely matching the taste profiles and unique techniques developed in Scotland.
This is not the first collaboration between the Scottish brewer and Brunswick Bierworks.
In 2018, the two collaborated on two limited-edition beers brewed specifically for the Canadian market: Kanzan & Sakura, a sour cherry witbier, and Innk & Gunn, a New England IPA created as part of a partnership between Innis & Gunn and the Toronto-based semi-permanent tattoo brand inkbox. Rennie anticipates that the new ar
