An Uxbridge, Ontario, brewing company is fearing a customer backlash after a single anonymous complaint led to dogs being banned.
The Second Wedge Brewing Company has been dog-friendly for three years and co-owner Rob Garrad told Global News that dogs have never been a problem.
According to regulations, every room where food is prepared must be kept free from live birds or animals. The Second Wedge decided that food should go before dogs.
The brewery is appealing the actions of the Durham Region Health Department and hoping for a change of heart. In the meantime, they’re worried that customers with four-legged friends will go elsewhere.
