It seems hard to believe but back in 1992, Alberta’s Drummond Brewery got slammed-dunked for selling a beer too cheaply.
Called Beer Beer, and priced in Alberta at around $10.80 for a 12-pack, all was well, with Drummond selling 1.5 million cases of Beer Beer a year.
But then they entered neighbouring Saskatchewan’s beer market and what had made Beer Beer so popular, mainly being so cheap cheap, became a major problem for the brewery. The powers that be decided Beer Beer wasn’t expensive enough.
