Unhappy New Year’s Eve

3 Brewers Canada has announced in a press release that it is closing four of its restaurants in the greater Toronto area.

Effective December 31, 2019, 3 Brewers Adelaide, Richmond Hill, Mavis, and Liberty Village locations will cease operations. These are the only restaurants affected by this restructuring in Canada. The remaining GTA locations, Yonge and Oakville, will continue to operate.

“Ten years ago, we entered the strategic market of Ontario and, over that time, experienced some great victories, notably our Yonge and Oakville restaurants, but also some challenges. This is a difficult decision, but we have concluded that we need to close some sites in order to support the evolution of our business,” says Laurens Defour, CEO 3 Brewers Canada. This decision is part of a strategic repositioning plan for the Ontario market. In fact, 3 Brewers Canada is about to enter a new phase during which new projects will soon be announced.

“At 3 Brewers, our employees are at the heart of our values and we understand the impact this decision has on their lives. We thank them for their dedicated service to our guests and want to reassure them that we will do whatever we can to provide support and assistance,” says Defour.

During this period of change, the leadership of 3 Brewers Canada personally met with employees affected by the closures. Information desks were set up in each of the affected restaurants, and the company is providing professional coaching, along with psychological support and help in finding a job. Wherever possible, reassignments to vacant positions in the 3 Brewers network are also planned.
