Farmer-owned global hop supplier, Yakima Chief Hops (YCH), will be hosting a virtual event for the entire month of September available for free and to the public, offering a behind the scenes look at hop harvest and brewing seminars. Featuring different sessions each day of the month which will include everything from farm tours to educational seminars giving brewers and beer drinkers worldwide the opportunity to get an up and close personal look at this integral ingredient.
The harvest season is of the utmost importance for Yakima Chief Hops, owned by 15 hop growers spanning across the Pacific Northwest. Every year, they invite brewers from across the globe to experience their hop harvest as well as attend in-person seminars. However, this year, due to COVID-19 restrictions, they will offer this experience for free, virtually.
“This is a rare opportunity where we invite the world to see where great beer truly begins and meet the talented people that make it happen,” says YCH CEO Ryan Hopkins. “We know that breweries are among the businesses that have been hit the hardest by COVID-19. We want to show our support by offering this event to everyone virtually for the first time ever while keeping our global communities safe.”
