Stratford’s Newest Brewery Opens its Doors

Stratford has acquired Ontario’s newest brewery and taproom, Heritage Hops Brew Co.  The brewery has launched in the historic Herald Building (originally home to the Stratford Herald Newspaper) and until earlier this year, home to Herald Haus Brewing who opened their doors in 2018.

There is no direct correlation between Herald Haus Brewing and the new owners, however patrons will recognize some of the Herald Haus staff members, head brewer Jon Zippel, as well as some of the Herald Haus brews such as the 21 Haze IPA.

The selection at Heritage Hops Brew Co. consists of:

Perth County Conspiracy Pale Ale -approachable, thirst quenching and fully packed with notes of stone-fruit and subtle citrus. This crowd-pleasing beer is a well-rounded pale ale with reserved yet perceivable bitterness. 4.7% ABV / 35 IBU

It’s Noon Somewhere Light Lager-easy drinking combination of a Czech pilsner and an American-style light lager. Clean, crisp and extremely refreshing – without skimping on flavour. 4.2% ABV / 10 IBU

Abandoned at the Altar Raspberry Sour Raspberry Sour-light body and assertive tartness, united with a modest dose of fresh raspberries. It pours blushing red with a silky head, while boasting a vibrant raspberry, lemon, and faint mango character – finishing dry and crisp. 5.3% ABV / 0 IBU

21 Haze East Coast IPA-an intense stone-fruit aroma with vibrant citrus and tropical flavours. This hop forward IPA takes 21 days from grain to glass, connected to their 21 Market Place location in downtown Stratford. 6.2% ABV / 60 IBU
