A family-run indigenous-owned brewery has opened its doors in Toronto.
Founded by Sarabeth and Sean Holden, Red Tape Brewery will take a very unique approach on brewing, focusing much of its business on bespoke brewing. The idea for bespoke brewing was born because of the Holden’s families being located far from Toronto, and they wanted something special for them to open upon its arrival. Sean brewed Celebration Saison in August 2017. Celebration Saison was bottled champagne style and topped off with caged corks. Sarabeth designed labels with descriptions before sending these bottles to family and close friends across Canada and the US. The night of January 11, 2018 was filled with the sound of corks popping across the land as family and close friends received the news of Holden’s son’s arrival, Ray.
The brewery’s first brew release, That Was Easy Pale Ale (5.3% abv) sold out in less than 24 hours with another batch (along with an IPA and a Porter) available to customers by next week.
Although their taproom is closed due to COVID-19 restrictions currently in place, customers can purchase Red Tape onsite to-go and for home delivery.
