Breweries Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Bluenose with a Lager

As #TourismWeek kicked off in Canada over the Victoria Day weekend, the 100th Anniversary of the Bluenose Schooner is being celebrated in Nova Scotia and Lunenburg all year long. Garrison Brewing and Shipwright Brewing co-released a lager earlier this year to mark such a special occasion.

The 5% ABV Bluenose Lager is a commemorative lager celebrating the 100th Anniversary of Canada’s treasured Bluenose. Brewed in the German Helles lager style, it’s bright and refreshing, with a striking golden colour.

“We were aware of the important milestone but wouldn’t consider doing anything without a strong Lunenburg partner” said Brian Titus, President of Garrison Brewing. “Then Adam called, and the pieces quickly fell into place.”

Bluenose Lager has been available at both Garrison locations and private beer retailers in Halifax and Shipwright Brewing since April with locations around the province launching last month. Partial proceeds will go to support the Bluenose 100 committee who are holding events throughout the year.
