The 2021 Canadian Brewing Awards celebrated Canadian brews and brewers from across the country and all their creations in Quebec this year. In their 19th annual competition, with over 165 awards handed out, West Coast B.C. breweries collected 40 of the awards, with 20 of them handed out to breweries in Metro Vancouver. In total B.C. breweries won 10 golds, 15 silver and 15 bronze:
- Strange Fellows picked up a gold for Jongleur their Belgian Wit and a silver for their Belgian style golden strong ale Goldilocks.
- Parallel 49‘s Ruby Tears won silver in the North American red or amber ale category followed by a bronze in the German-style sour category for their Smoked Salt Gose.
- East Vancouver Brewing completed the tri factor with a gold win with their Unholy One Nitro Stout taking the Oatmeal Stout category.
Metro Vancouver breweries added two more golds to the roster. North Vancouver’s Deep Cove Brewers and Distillers for their self-named lager in the North American Premium Lager category, while Five Roads Brewing in Langley won gold for Permanent Resident in the American IPA category, one of many BC breweries to get an IPA related award.
Taking home silver medals was Burnaby’s Dageraad along with Antwerpen and Howe Sound Brewing taking the bronze.
