North Vancouver’s Shaketown Brewing Co. is Offering Tales with its Ales

Shaketown Brewing Co. is adding an extra ingredient to their beer offerings. The North Vancouver company recently opened its doors in the Brewery District, and with your beer you could receive a tale (or two) about fictional facts written on the walls of the establishment.

Shaketown Brewing Co.’s co-founder Ryan Scholz shows off some of the suspect “historical” references that are posted around the brewery and tasting room.

Ryan Scholz, the brewery’s co-founder, was brainstorming ideas for the brewery and fell in love with the name. The next step was to hire a marketing firm to come up with some cool and off-the-wall branding ideas, and they came back with an entire story about Shaketown including characters and events that would have anyone scratching their head as they take down a pint.

The craft brewery opened in March after a combination of construction delays and of course, the added delay from the pandemic, set them behind. Shaketown can be found alongside the East Esplanade, in good company of more than half a dozen other breweries, cideries and distilleries. Their menu features a wide selection of craft beers, open communal seating, and windows that open up onto a beautiful waterfront.
