A new craft brewery is set to open in Port Stanley, ON, in the former Dominion of Canada warehouse in May 2023. However, there seems to be some issues.
Port Stanley is having issues securing an investor who would be interested in taking part in the plans. Originally sketched out last winter, there hasn’t been any mention, other than the opening date, on who would be taking part in this venture. However, it seems a little more likely that a seasonal pub featuring rotating and summer-themed taps seems more likely than a real craft brewery.
The plan is to convert the Dominion of Canada warehouse into a brewery/restaurant/event space. As reported last winter by the St. Thomas Times-Journal, three London companies are partners in the brewery venture: Domus Developments, Wasko Developments and West Haven Golf and Country Club. The Municipality of Central Elgin leased the property to the group for five years with an option to buy.
