In 2022, EU nations produced almost 34.3 billion (bn) litres of alcoholic beer and 1.6 billion (bn) litres of beer with less than 0.5% alcohol content or no alcohol content at all.

In comparison to 2021, beer with alcohol output in the EU climbed by 7%, reverting to levels closer to the pre-pandemic year of 2019, when production was at 34.7 billion litters. There was no change in beer without alcohol as compared to 2021. 

In 2022, the total beer (with and without alcohol) output in the EU was over 80 litres per person.
