A group of women called The Couve Brew Bevy “get together, explore beer, make connections, and celebrate being RAD ladies,” according to creator Kimberly Johnson.
The organization commemorated the sixth anniversary of its inaugural “Bevy Meet Up” last month. The event took place at Final Draft Taphouse, the establishment’s primary location that Johnson and her husband Mike Bolt founded in 2017.
Mallory Brown, a sales and distribution representative from Block 15 Brewing in Corvallis, spoke at the gathering. She discussed her experience drinking and working in the craft beer industry, as well as provided information about Block 15 and its upcoming Bloktoberfest event on October 6-7. Two passes to the event will be given away by The Bevy.
“Couve Brew Bevy events are all about fun, mingling with other ladies, and getting to know each other over a pint,” said Johnson, who founded the organization out of a love for bringing women together over craft beer.
We bond by our shared love of beer, but the relationships we forge are enduring, she claimed. “I founded this group because there wasn’t one in Vancouver, and I needed to connect with other women who felt the same way about themselves. We are frequently surrounded by guys the bulk of the time, much like many of the other women in the business and those of us who enjoy beer. For me, having a place and community where women could gather for “our” time was and is crucial.
