This Chilliwack Brewery Is Truly “Farm To Table”

Chilliwack’s Farmhouse Brewing Co. is a craft brewery with a tasting room and a wood-fired kitchen that is soon to mark its third year.

The brewery has grown into a thriving business in the middle of the Greendale farming region by purposefully using “local” ingredients into all facets of their food and beverage operations.

Colleen and Dan Neels, a husband and wife pair who own and run Farmhouse Brewing, enthusiastically welcomed busloads of visitors last month as part of the 2023 Chilliwack Agricultural Tour to the farm on Lickman Road.

When visitors learn that some of the components used in the Neels’ goods are really grown by them, they are overjoyed.

“We tell them about the barley and hops we have growing, and they realize that we actually brew the beer right here as well. It’s farm-to-table, literally,” Colleen Neels says.

The fact that Farmhouse is one of only six craft brewers in British Columbia that uses farmland is one of the factors that distinguishes them from other breweries.
