At Toronto Pearson International Airport, the global restaurant HMSHost, an Avolta firm, has launched the Henderson Brewery at YYZ Bar. The project is a joint effort between HMSHost, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame rock group Rush, and the local artisan beer Henderson Brewing Company
As a tribute to their homeland of Toronto, Rush wrote the instrumental rock track YYZ (the airport’s code) for the Moving Pictures album in 1981.
Geddy Lee, the main vocalist and bassist for Rush, and guitarist Alex Lifeson socialized with travellers at the airport bar’s grand opening, which serves Henderson Brewing Company beers from Canada.
Rush Canadian Golden Ale is one of many beers that is created in the rock group’s honour. Original antiques from Rush’s touring and recording history are on display at the bar, which also sells band apparel that is only accessible at airports.
Located in Terminal 1’s excellent pre-security location, the 28-seat Henderson Brewery @ YYZ. It is located only a few steps from the Union Pearson Express escalators that go into the terminal.
