The ‘Cloud Cruiser,’ a co-branded IPA that is now offered 30,000 feet or higher in select lounges, is the result of the collaboration of two well-known Pacific Northwest businesses.
Alaska Airlines is already offering its first-ever house brew, a unique craft beer made just for the airline by Seattle-based Fremont Brewing. Alaska’s newest IPA will be available for purchase in the Main Cabin, served in a few Lounges, and given away free of charge in First and Premium Class.
“The ‘Cloud Cruiser’ is the result of two beloved and popular Pacific Northwest brands coming together to create a top-tier beverage to add to our premium line-up,” said Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska Airlines managing director of guest products. “The only place in the world you’ll be able to find this one-of-a-kind craft beer is if you’re flying on Alaska or in one of our lounges. We have already received feedback from the first guests to taste our new premium West Coast product who say they can’t wait to fly us again and order another can of ‘Cloud Cruiser.’”
Working closely with Alaska, Fremont Brewing creates small-batch artisan beers using the best local ingredients. Both companies taste-tested a variety of blends 30,000 feet in the air before deciding on the India pale ale of the brewery, which has notes of bright orange, melon, and tropical fruit.
The founder and owner of Fremont Brewing, Matt Lincecum, said, “‘Cloud Cruiser’ IPA is brewed with a select blend of malts and Washington grown to stay fresh in the air with you.” “With years of experience supplying beer to Alaska’s flights across the nation, Fermont crafts ‘Cloud Cruiser.'” Freshly brewed to deliver freshness to you. Since Fresh Beer Is Important!
With its distinctive design, the can features an Alaska Airlines 737-8 MAX soaring through the clouds above a vintage scene of snow-capped mountains, forests, and water that are representative of Washington state.
From the first ideation stage to the final drawing board, Alaskan and Fremont creative artists collaborated.
