In a recent white paper titled Craft Beer and Spirits: Success Through Packaging, published by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. The fastest-growing materials utilized in the craft beer and spirits sector through 2027 are expected to be metal, glass, and liquid cartons. This is in response to customer desires for ready-to-drink, e-commerce, variety, and multipacks, which are expected to propel the market to 78.1 billion unit sales, or a 1% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), between 2024 and 2027.
“Metal already represents the lion’s share of craft brew and spirits packaging—followed by glass, then rigid plastic,” says Rebecca Marquez, director, custom research, PMMI. “But liquid cartons are slated to grow at the fastest rate over this period at 2.2% CAGR.”
