GoodLot Farmstead Brewing (“GoodLot”), in collaboration with Credit Valley Conservation and Wilder Climate Solutions, is proud to announce the launch of ‘Tree Hug’, an innovative beer crafted from Maple sap. This unique partnership combines environmental stewardship, sustainable practices, and delicious craft brewing to create a beverage that celebrates the natural beauty of our forests.
Drawing inspiration from the lush maple groves of Ontario, ‘Tree Hug’ is a testament to the rich heritage of the region and a commitment to environmental conservation. By utilizing locally sourced maple sap (in replacement of water), GoodLot has created a one-of-a-kind beer that captures the essence of the Canadian wilderness while supporting sustainable forestry practices.
“We are thrilled to introduce ‘Tree Hug’ to beer enthusiasts everywhere,” said Phil Winters, Co-Founder of GoodLot, recent recipient of “Sustainability Initiative of the Year” at the 2023 Canadian Brewers Choice Awards (CBCAs). “Not only does this beer offer a distinctively refreshing taste, but it also represents our collective effort to promote environmental sustainability. By partnering with Credit Valley Conservation and Wilder Climate Solutions, we are taking a significant step towards fostering a more eco-conscious brewing industry. As such, 100% of the proceeds from this beer are being donated to the Credit Valley Conservation Foundation.”
Maple sap used in ‘Tree Hug’ is sustainably sourced from Credit Valley Conservation’s (CVC) sugarbush at Terra Cotta Conservation Area. The conservation area protects natural systems which provide important ecosystem services such as capturing carbon, cleaning water and providing habitat for wildlife. CVC’s land stewardship and responsible forest management helps to preserve natural habitats that make Ontario’s maple trees thrive.
“Wilder is proud to support this innovative venture,” said Blaine Pearson, CEO of Wilder Climate Solutions. “By harnessing the power of nature, we are demonstrating the potential for sustainable solutions to combat climate change. ‘Tree Hug’ is not just a beer; it’s a symbol of our collective interest in celebrating the environment, which we know is the first step in protecting it for future generations.”
‘Tree Hug’ is available for purchase at select retailers and GoodLot’s taproom, while the limited run lasts.. Join us in raising a glass to sustainability and the beauty of Ontario’s forests with ‘Tree Hug’ – the beer that gives back to nature.
