New Brunswick beverage business Think Brewing is accusing Halifax’s Wrought Iron Brewing Company, which operates as Good Robot Brewing, of causing a mistake in a beer recipe. The company entered into an agreement with Good Robot in January 2023 to produce and package 59,000 cans of beer involving five different flavors.
The deal was intended to help “reinvigorate” Think Brewing, which was purchased in 2022 by a new owner who wanted to restructure the company to sell more alcoholic beverages.
“Good Robot was aware that Think’s plans for a successful relaunch depended on the batch of beer being identical to what had previously been sold at NB Liquor outlets,” the statement of claim said.
However, Good Robot failed to follow product specifications, recipes, and ingredients, resulting in a beer that differed from its previous product and resulting in losses of around $150,000 according to the documents.
