Trans Canada Brewing Co. is set to open a new taproom at the former Barney’s Motel site in Brandon, Manitoba.
The commercial property, located at the intersection of Trans-Canada Highway and Hwy. 10, was sold in December 2023 to a Winnipeg developer. The Westman city was chosen for the company’s first expansion beyond its flagship operation in Winnipeg.
Brand and marketing leader Emma Houldsworth said that Brandon represents a huge market that has recently started its craft beer journey. The location at the highly visible intersection will make the taproom a convenient stop for customers passing through or coming home.
The new taproom is expected to open in spring 2026. The new location will include an on-site production facility, offering exclusive beers brewed locally. The taproom will also feature a full menu, including stone oven pizzas and a grab-and-go retail store.
