A Central Alberta Collective Hosted a National Homebrew Competition

Red Deer Brewers, a Central Alberta collective, established in 2023, Red Deer Brewers is a Central Alberta collective, hosted its inaugural homebrew competition from Aug. 1 to Oct. 19, Canadian homebrewers were invited to register their beers. 

The collective focuses on supporting the home brew community. From weekend warriors to professional brewer masters, its main focus is to create a safe, supportive community for everything beer. It hosts monthly meetings, competitions, casual engagement and brew days, with past large scale collaborations with Troubled Monk and Red Hart Brewing.

The competition, which took place at Blindman Brewing in Lacombe, saw 150 entries from 10 different homebrew clubs from across Canada. The winners were recognized at an awards ceremony last month at the Craft Beer Commonwealth.
