This year, the CBMAS added a charity fundraising category called “Show Us Your Favourite Tattoo” in addition to redesigning the Crushie trophy. This category raised over $6K for the Michael J. Jackson Foundation (MJF), which provides scholarships for black, indigenous, and people of colour in the brewing and distilling industries. Garrett Oliver, the founder and chair of MJF and brewmaster of The Brooklyn Brewery, was given a stage-side presentation of the funds earned from the charity category.
There were several entries submitted from all across the world. The US, Australia, and Canada were the countries with the most wins. Georgia led all US states in victories, with Texas, Colorado, and Washington tying for second place. Georgia had the most victories overall.
“We were so impressed by the sheer creativity, innovation, and caliber of marketing displayed in entries this year in every category,” said CBMAS Co-Founder Jim McCune, “More than 600 industry professional judges from around the world had their work cut out for them this year!”
The CBMAs are the first competition of its type. This international competition honours craft beer breweries, designers, and packaging firms for their outstanding aesthetic and innovative marketing and packaging initiatives, which are becoming an increasingly important part of differentiating brands in the retail sector.
