Foodora Reports that Alcohol-free Beer is Growing Significantly Throughout Europe

Foodora, a leading food delivery service in CEE and the Nordics, reports an evolving trend in beer consumption, with alcohol-free beer gaining traction in key markets.

In summer 2024, alcohol-free beer orders in Europe grew by 16.34%, outpacing traditional beer orders by 12.32%. Central Eastern Europe is more inclined to drink alcohol-free beers than the Nordics.

The study reveals a 16% increase in alcohol-free beer consumption in 2024 compared to 2023, while traditional beer consumption saw a 12% increase. The CEE region showed a higher preference for alcohol-free options, with the Czech Republic experiencing a 61% surge in consumption, and Hungary experiencing a 36% increase, while traditional beer consumption decreased by 11%. These findings highlight the complexity of consumer attitudes towards alcohol-free options.

In the Nordics, Finland shows a 12% increase in alcohol-free beer consumption, while Sweden remains stable with a modest 2% growth. Norway, however, shows a 26% decrease in alcohol-free beer consumption, while regular beer saw a 30% increase year over year.
