Vancouver is now home to dozens of craft breweries, putting it on par with other well-known beer destinations like Portland and San Francisco. Its beer scene is as ancient as the city itself, although that isn’t as widely recognized. The author of a new book now wants to make that shift.
Noëlle Phillips, a Douglas College English professor, is the author and co-editor of two scholarly publications on medieval beer history and craft beer management. Her first general-audience book is Brewmasters & Brewery Creek: A History of Craft Beer in Vancouver, Then and Now.
