‘Green Bottle’ sales surge

Heineken has seen worldwide volume growth of its namesake lager grow by 8.3 percent. This is the best in a decade, according to FoodBev Media.

This translates to a venue growth of nearly six percent in 2019 to 23.89 million euros (CA$34.62 million).

During 2019, Heineken saw double-digit growth in more than 40 markets, include Brazil – its largest market – Mexico, South Africa, Nigeria, the UK, Romania and Germany.

Heineken has also announced that its CEO of 15-years, Jean-Francois van Boxmeer, will step down in June. He will be replaced by Dolf van den Brink, head of Heineken’s Asia Pacific region.
