Custom consumer research now available for On Premise drinks suppliers and retail chains across Canada
CGA Nielsen, which has been supplying insight and data to leading beverage suppliers in the US since 2016, has expanded its consumer research reach to Canadian markets with the launch of its On Premise User Survey (OPUS) study. OPUS, which is specifically designed for the On Premise channel, has become an essential tool for beverage suppliers in profiling visitors to their most important chain customers, developing national account strategies, building compelling RFP pitches and understanding essential consumer trends and preferences of the drinkers of specific brands on key occasions or events.
Fielded twice a year, the comprehensive study deep-dives the On Premise behaviour of 10,000 nationally representative consumers. The latest OPUS research took place during the shelter-in-place phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, and analyses consumers’ willingness to return to the channel, planned visits, and key concerns around safety measures.
Key findings show that 60% of consumers were willing to return to bars and restaurants immediately and the same percentage planned to go out as frequently as pre-COVID-19. In addition, this latest research offers Canadian subscribers:
- Market and key trend overviews
- Robust customer profiling of consumers of major drink and retail brands
- Consumer-led strategy and planning
- Key account support for RFP’s and tender pitches
Detailed insights into Canadian consumer preference, behaviour and perceptions at brand and category level, all through the lens of On Premise visits and behaviour.
Commenting on their new capability and the opportunity for Canadian drink suppliers, Client Solutions Director Matthew Crompton said,
“We are delighted to be able to bring this highly-regarded consumer study to Canada for the first time. Since launching OPUS in America back in 2016, OPUS is now seen by many leading drink suppliers as genuinely game-changing to their Key Account strategy and sales process. With the Canadian On Premise in a state of unprecedented change, we know that retailers are looking for more support than ever from their suppliers. We are very pleased to be able to add something unique, and already proven to add value, to the toolkit of Canadian suppliers for the very first time”
As the On Premise continues to reopen across Canadian markets, CGA Nielsen is preparing a new survey this Autumn to support suppliers in strategically navigating the ongoing recovery phase.
