“Life Brewing craft” – AI created Beers That Represent Different Generations

Back during the summer months, Nippon Denki (NEC) and Coedo Brewery completed their development of “Life Brewing craft” – a range of craft beers made to represent the characteristics of each generation using AI analysis.  By analyzing images and texts researched from fashion magazines that would have been published when each generation was in their 20’s (the legal drinking age) the data was then analyzed by NEC the WISE using cutting-edge AI technology, and the master craft beer brewers at Coedo Brewery.  The company created four types of beer which represent people from the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s.

The lineup features four products: “Life Brewing Craft: 20’s PINK” for people in their 20s, “Life Brewing Craft: 30’s BLUE” for people in their 30s, “Life Brewing Craft: 40’s YELLOW” for people in their 40s, and “Life Brewing Craft: 50’s RED” for people in their 50s.

Ingredients: malt, hops, coconut, lemon zest, blue pigment (gardenia jasminoides)

Alcohol content: 7.0%

This craft beer project is also the third product in NEC’s AI-based taste prediction series.

Each type comes in a box of four 350mL cans, which costs ¥1540 (around $14).
