Founded in 1987 – in a kitchen – Les Brasseurs du Nord, a Quebec-based microbrewery, announced the launch of its first product in Ontario. Best known for its popular BORÉALE brand, Boréale Rousse was the first red ale sold in Quebec and now PALE ALE DES BOIS will be available in more than 100 LCBO stores across Ontario.
PALE ALE DES BOIS – part of the Artisan series – was developed by master brewer Gabriel Dulong and launched in the Quebec market in January 2018. The key elements of the hoppy Pale Ale are its subtle bitterness and distinctive grapefruit accents with Cascade hops. This brew features a 5.1% alcohol content and 30 IBUs.
“I’ve always been a big fan of Cascade, and brewing a Pale Ale was the perfect opportunity to showcase its full potential, said master brewer and Vice-president – innovation and operations at Les Brasseurs du Nord – Boréale. “I’m also very pleased with the malt selection on this recipe, it provides a perfect canvas for the hops to shine through, yet making this beer light and refreshing.”
“To have our beers in Ontario is a long-standing goal that is now a reality,” boats Sébastien Paradis, President and Chief executive officer, and a shareholder in Les Brasseurs du Nord – Boréale. “Our friendly business relationship with Steve Beauchesne and his team at Beau’s now means we can cross the border in complete confidence. We have been representing Beau’s in Quebec since 2018, and my team and I are very pleased to take this collaborative relationship further, with Beau’s now representing Boréale in Ontario. While Pale Ale des Bois is a first step in our move westward, we will, of course, put our efforts to feature other brews in the near future,” said Paradis.
“Brewing has always been a passion – even long before I became a master brewer, stated Dulong. “The challenge of creating great beers is a constant goal which I strive on achieving with every new offering. I’ve always been a huge fan of the craft brewers in Ontario and to finally get the chance to have one of my beers featured amongst theirs is a true honor,” said Dulong.
