The Wheeled Brew Bottle Shop held its grand opening this past weekend in Barrie, Ontario. Owner Evan MacDonald runs a mobile service featuring a vintage 1940 Ford Panel tap truck, a 1950 Ford, F-3 beer truck and a 1947 Chevy 4800 mobile bar pouring beer, cider and wine for events and weddings. He now adds Ontario’s smallest brewery to that list.
“It’s been a busy time, getting ready and organized, but we’re so excited to open the doors and show people what we’re all about,” said MacDonald.
“We actually have Canada’s first draft trucks; that is the initial business that is still doing really well,” MacDonald said. “We ended up working with so many breweries, distilleries, cideries and wineries that the impact with even just the smaller orders we were putting in was seen and we wanted to bring all of those people and businesses to one place.”
Customers can choose from over 70 brews and spirits with local options available.
“We will also have a draft selection that is focused on Kingston and King Edward County, to start,” he says. “We will be rotating that monthly to make sure we’re servicing and highlighting different regions. We’re also looking forward to working with local breweries to put something fun together.”
“We want people to come in and have a chat with each other, talking about their experiences with beers, spirits and wine and try new ones or enjoy their favourites,” says MacDonald. “With the selection we’ll have, I would recommend that people come in with an open mind and try something new, have a new experience.”
“We’re so excited to help bring more exposure to the many companies outside the region we work with, but we’ll do the same with the local breweries in town, as well,” ha said. “I know Flying Monkeys, Barnstormers and Redline all produce amazing products, so we’re looking forward to having them in here.”
The Wheeled Bottle Brew will be open seven days a week with pandemic precautions in place.
