As the West Coast brewing community continues to support environmental and ecological communities with their brews, Calgary, AB has been added to the list via the Annex Ale Project. The project will be releasing four beers (as part of a series) being released in partnership with the Calgary Zoological Foundation, where a portion of each sale will go to help support the foundation’s conservation programs.
The first release will be Whopping Crane Alberta Common (5% abv):
This bready, caramel crisp beer is made with 100 percent Alberta Malt and Pacific-Northwest hops, this brew is based on a local take on the warm-fermented Lagers found in California. Light chocolate from Red Shed Malting, Munich from Origin Malting, and two-row from Rahr Malt.
Whopping Crane Alberta Common is available at the Annex retail store and select beer retailers in Alberta.
