The Outpost Bottle Shop has landed in Fergus, ON, and is run by a group of family and friends.
The Outpost offers a wide variety of craft beers from across the province to either enjoy on-site or as a grab and go option.
Co-owners Araya Hill, Collin McKinnon, Ian Wuss, Gord and Tyler Campbell all came together to open the shop as a way to bond and become closer with each other using their passion for beer as the catapult.
McKinnon was the one who came up with the name which is inspired by pit stops where people can go for an all-in-one shop before they head out to a cottage.
“We really wanted it to make it feel kind of cottagey. We love Muskoka, camping and nature,” said Hill. “We were kind of hoping people pass through on their way to the cottage. Stop by and stock up.”
“We bring in stuff you typically can’t find in the LCBOs,” she said about housing beers from over 30 breweries across Ontario.
In addition to bringing in unique finds from across the province, the Outpost also has 10 monthly rotating taps.
For the non-beer drinkers, they have a selection of wine, spirits, non-alcoholic beer and seltzers.
Eventually, the owners hope to bring in food menu options like barbecue, smash burgers, tacos and salads.
