Tim Sheahan is the launch editor of The Brewers Journal in the UK. Since co-founding the bi-monthly in September 2015, the magazine has gone from strength-to-strength, increasing to monthly output in September 2017. Sheahan is also the editor of Brewers Journal Canada since its launch in Canada in 2016.
REN NAVARRO
With nearly a decade of experience in the alcohol industry, a passion for encouraging personal and professional growth, and her trademark wit, Ren Navarro is here to educate, enlighten, and engage. Since launching Beer. Diversity. in 2018, Ren has become a known name at breweries, wineries, distilleries, and beyond. She has given talks on diversity and inclusion at several colleges and countless festivals, panels, radio shows, and podcasts throughout North America. In addition to being a diversity educator, she is a craft beer consultant for bars and restaurants in Ontario and an educator for countless businesses throughout the country.
Beer. Diversity. is more than just a company that educates, it’s a resource built from the passion and love of the industry to do better and be better. Navarro’s experience in public speaking and history in the drinks world alongside her perspective as a queer Black woman makes her an essential voice in the work and outreach involved in creating a welcoming and diverse environment for beverage producers and imbibers of all backgrounds.

JOHN KEELING
John Keeling is the former brewing director of London-based Fuller’s. He is also an acclaimed judge and speaker at countless beer competitions around the world including several Beer World Cups and the Australian International Beer Awards.
NATASHA PEISKAR
With over a decade of experience spanning production, education, sales and hospitality, Natasha (she/her) manages the production of award-winning beer at The Establishment Brewing Company in Calgary, AB. The path to Production Manager began in a home brew shop while simultaneously working as a craft beer sales representative. The next challenge as Brand Manager and beer buyer for National Beer Hall in Calgary led to a jump to the production side in 2017 with Bomber Brewing and later Tool Shed Brewing and Last Best Brewing & Distilling.
Natasha also holds Advanced Cicerone® certification – one of 2 in Alberta, and 156 in the world – and regularly judges both professional and home brew competitions. As an active member of the Pink Boots Society she co-created the hop blend used for Pink Boots Brew Day 2019 and most recently co-founded and serves as President of the Canada chapter, which is developing programming and opportunities specific to its local members.
STEPHEN TYSON
Stephen Tyson – CEO – “Tyson” worked in sports events and stadiums, before transitioning to Hospitality Management. Running some of the biggest bars & venues in Toronto, Tyson has been working in operations and consulting capacities for much of the last decade. During the pandemic he continued his education & research career at Harvard in Sustainable Business Strategy. With a passion for the environment, seeing a greener future and making an impact, he founded Karbon Brewing.
THE BREWERS JOURNAL CANADA TEAM
The team behind Brewers Journal Canada has experienced first hand the tremendous growth in Canadian craft breweries since the launch of its first magazine issue in the summer of 2016. Its quarterly publication is designed to give breweries, distributors, and suppliers an essential insight into the issues that matter to them, and also how to take advantage of this growing market. The team also hosts the Brewers Lectures Canada Event Series as well as the Brewers Choice Awards.
ROGER MITTAG (PAST JUDGE -2021)
Roger Mittag, is the founder of Canada’s leading beer education company, Thirst For Knowledge Inc.® As one of the leading beer experts in Canada, he has delivered quality beer education since 1997 and is a consultant/educator to many breweries and restaurant groups bringing his extensive beer industry knowledge and enthusiastic approach to their businesses. In 2009, he created Prud’homme Beer Certification®, a beer sommelier program (the first comprehensive online beer education program in the world).
Roger is also a published author who contributes to magazines and books and has appeared on radio and television sharing his love of beer.
